Paco Rabanne’s Julien Dossena to guest-design Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture
Julien Dossena, the creative director of Paco Rabanne, will be the fifth guest designer to create a couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier. Both brands are owned by Puig. “What stands out about Julien is his personality. He is brilliant, generous, creative,” Gaultier told Vogue. And the admiration is mutual. “What I’ve always loved about Jean Paul’s approach is his constant curiosity, his way of exploring different registers and tastes,” says Dossena of Gaultier. The upcoming collection will feature unexpected materials, references to Gaultier’s archives and consideration for sustainability. {Vogue/paywalled}
Bottega Veneta is re-staging its fall show in Beijing
Bottega Veneta is set to stage a repeat of its Fall 2023 collection (first shown in Milan) in Beijing on July 20. However, the show will also feature new looks, building upon Bottega Veneta’s brand presence in China. This all comes while the Italian luxury house attempts to gain favor in the Asian market; recent efforts include returning to the Chinese social media platform Weibo, inviting K-Pop stars like BTS‘ RM to attend shows and launching projects like taking over the Great Wall to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year.
