Perhaps it’s no surprise, then, that the actor opted for Vivienne Westwood corsetry for a rare red-carpet appearance in New York on Tuesday night.

For a screening of her new film Boston Strangler, Knightley wore a black taffeta dirndl dress from Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood’s spring 2023 collection, featuring delicate sequin embellishment and a recycled jacquard lining. Completing the elegant look, she added a pair of studded open-toe sandals by Chanel and a tennis necklace by Scandi designer Sophie Bille Brahe.
